President Biya and General Soriano discuss security issues

The Head of State Paul Biya granted audience yesterday 18th September to the visiting French General Francisco Soriano, Commander of the French Forces based in Gabon, who was accompanied by the French Ambassador to Cameroon, Madam Christine Robichon.

Following their discussions that lasted over one hour, the French Ambassador told the press that the discussions were focused on the security problems facing Cameroon at the moment and the support that can be given by the French government to solve them.

She said France is very attached to the security of Cameroon and will always be by the side of Cameroon and the other countries of the region.

General Soriano said that the security of the Central African Republic was discussed with the President of the Republic.

He reiterated the need for regional solution to the security problems and said that Cameroon, which is a target of the insecurity is a major actor in the ECCAS and CEMAC sub-region.

In attendance at the audience was Airforce Brigadier General Emmanuel Amougou and Rear Admiral Joseph Fouda.
