Power supply reinforced with new transformer in Yaounde

A new transformer has been installed at the Melen neighbourhood in Yaounde to augment the supply of electricity in the town.

The 50 MVA capacity transformer was set up this Thursday, 18th December 2014 by the electricity provider in the country, ENEO.

The head of the project, Roger Tsafak notes that the new transformer will increase both the capacity and availability of electrical energy in Yaounde.

He further explained that the transformer will serve as relay in case of the malfunctioning of any equipment and keep customers connected even during repair works.

A sub director in charge of operations and maintenance, Paul Monji mentioned that the new equipment adds up to two existing transformers though one had been broken down in 2011.

The sub director indicated that with the new installation, customers are sure of continuous power supply even if one of the two functional transformers breaks down.
