The National Communication Council (NCC), since its creation in 2012 by a presidential decree, has made decisions to punish the media and journalists whose annotations are against the ethics and professional conduct.

Peter Essoka, said that since the closure of Afrique Media offices after two months, the NCC was still facing an unprecedented case. The Africa Media TV channel, which was given a one-month suspension from 4 June 2015, refused to extinguish itself broadcasting its programs.

Yet tired of waiting, the NCC used the police to put under seal the facilities of this pan-African chain in Yaoundé and Douala as an operation performed in an electric atmosphere and dramatically in Douala where the television channel has several supporters.

Given the popular uprising and the interest generated by this operation, the public radio station received Peter Essoka, acting President of the NCC, as a guest on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at 1pm.

The veteran Cameroonian journalist took this opportunity to recall the criticism that was made against Afrique Media.

According to him "people take the liberty to say anything, utter insults, encourage hatred and xenophobia.

"these are some of the issues some panelists during the debate on this TV channel termed as the slave of France and that he will not be intimidated. What I am doing is right and I will continue to do my job."he added

Peter Essoka criticized the system of administrative tolerance that according to him, the cause of the excesses are observed in some media in Cameroon.
