Regional Pedagogic Inspectors of Secondary Education are currently sharpening their skills to better supervise teachers on the mastery of new syllabuses and teacher-support resources in the teaching of Arts, National Languages and Cultures in schools nationwide through a workshop in Yaounde.

While opening the workshop yesterday, November 10, 2015, the Minister of Secondary Education, Ngalle Bibehe Jean Ernest Masséna told participants from all the ten regions in the country to look beyond the problems faced in the teaching of arts, national languages and culture in schools and to analyse the syllabuses of Arts, National Languages and Cultures drawn from the competence-based approach so as to improve the teaching of National Languages to young Cameroonians.

A National Pedagogic Inspector of National Languages and Culture at the Ministry of Secondary, Alfred Ngoisah Lyonga said through the course, a lot of things concerning Cameroon’s cultural identity which had been ignored and neglected will be taught to students. As such, students will henceforth understand their identity, culture, traditions, about the country and local languages.
