Paul Biya undertakes to equip army by all means

Unlike Idriss Déby Itno, his Chadian counterpart who visits the bedside of wounded soldiers and participates in the removal of corpse of the Chadian soldiers killed during the war against Boko Haram, Paul Biya, the head of the State of Cameroon has always been conspicuous by his absence.

It was still the case Friday 6 March, 2015, at the farewell ceremony in the courtyard of Quartier general in Yaoundé. But, although absent, the leader of the Cameroonian armed forces has not been indifferent. "I convey to the families and relatives of these soldiers the sincere condolences of the President of the Republic to which he combines compassion from his wife Madam Chantal Biya" said Edgard Mebe Ngo'o, the Minister delegate at the Presidency in charge of defence who presided over the ceremony on behalf of Paul Biya.

The Cameroonian President also took the opportunity to respond to the request of the military at the front. In the aftermath of the declaration of the war on Boko Haram ten months ago, soldiers complained of the lack of military resources and manpower.

"The military must not expect everything to go well. But they can count on constant solicitude from the head of State who does not skimp on ways and means to give our defence forces appropriate operational capabilities" reacted René Claude Meka, the general of army corps.

Paul Biya held to confirm yesterday through his spokesman Edgard Mene Ngo'o. "The head of State has asked me to assure all our forces of his resoluteand limitless determination to put all the necessary means at their disposal for their effectiveness.
