Cameroonian President, Paul Biya, has been invited by the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, to Abuja after a ‘friendship and working visit’ by Buhari to Yaoundé.

The two leaders agreed on this visit to strengthen bilateral relations between their countries and talked about the final moments of the former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, accused of delay in controlling the security and humanitarian crisis caused by the Nigerian Islamist sect Boko Haram.

This particular case was the main topic of discussion between the two executives who have announced their determination to work together to stop the actions of this terrorist group.

The two leaders welcomed the forthcoming summit of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) "targeted at pooling efforts to combat the terrorist sect, Boko Haram,” according to the final statement read by Muhammadu Buhari at the Yaoundé-Nsimalen International Airport on Thursday morning.

This summit was planned to be held in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea in early April. It had been postponed at the last minute pending the scheduled inauguration of Muhammadu Buhari on May 29 in Abuja. Since then, no new schedule has been announced yet.

Yet it is a crucial appointment for the operationalization of the joint multinational force of 10,000 men of the Commission on Lake Chad Basin (LCBC), which has received funding from the G7 countries, revealed Thursday Yaounde Nigerian head of state.
