PM Yang urges Oku people to solve own problems

Prime Minister Philemon Yang has admonished his Oku brethren to learn to solve their problems and avoid bringing in third parties.

He warned against relying on him, arguing that he is Prime Minister of Cameroon, and not for Oku people.

PM Yang was addressing CPDM and non-CPDM militants at Elak during celebrations marking President Biya’s 32ndanniversary as Head of State.

Expressing satisfaction with the turnout, the PM said no body was indispensable. He said even himself,or the Oku Fon, were not indispensable.

Referring to attempts to broker peace between the various CPDM factions that were born during the last twin elections, Yang said the Governor of the Northwest Region and the Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, for Bui were only doing their jobs in trying to reconcile the people during a failed ecumenical service that was organised at Elak recently.

He cautioned Oku people to take their destinies in their hands and urged both elected and appointed officials to do just what their offices demand.

“I don’t wait for someone to do my job for me as Prime Minister. So, you should learn to do what you were elected or appointed to do,” the PM declared. He said the twin elections in Oku were hitch-free, reason why there should be no ill feelings in some quarters.

Yang praised the Bui III CPDM Secretary-General,Francis NgokseNchinda, who has kept the party flag flying in the wake of consistent abandonment by the CPDM and WCPDM Presidents. He called on the Oku people to rally behind the party’s scribe for greater political achievements.

Earlier, the Bui III CPDM Section Secretary General, Ngokse, had lauded PM Yang for his presence in Oku for the anniversary celebrations. He paid glowing tributes to President Biya for transforming Oku Subdivision into an emerging administrative unit.

He cited health units, road networks, rural electrification, CAMPOST and TeleCentres, good water supply systems and the recent creation of a GTTTC Jikijem Okuas some of the projects that have made the people proud of the Biya regime.

“HE Paul Biya, even as a politician, is a man of high repute, a man of sanity, career diplomacy of international standard. Consequently, those who claim or profess to be his followers should desist from politics of hatred, blackmail, witch-hunting, egoism, pride and absenteeism,” he said.

“No one man, for whatever reason, has the right to hold the party hostage because the party is the people,” he said.

He requested for an unconditional overhaul of the organs of Bui III CPDM Section.
