Last week, there was a letter from the Minister for the Presidency in charge of Defense, Beti Assomo, on the security measures about actions to be taken on a presumed terrorist attack threats in Yaounde.

According to L’Oeil du Sahel newspaper in its delivery of this Monday, March 7, 2016, on newsstands, beyond the psychosis caused by the circulation of such document in the population, confirming fears of an attack from Boko Haram in Yaounde, it is more of its impact on the operation to neutralize the supposed terrorists infiltrated in Yaounde that should be regrettable.

Because, says the newspaper, the document revealed the strategy of the defense and security forces, but also, because terrorists always rely on the element of surprise to act. Or feeling unmasked, they have plenty of time to go green and to prepare a “B” plan, by the information disclosed.

In any case, continued the paper, the publication of this document signed on March 2, 2016 by the Minister of Defense did not leave insensible the military hierarchy. On the same day, the military security caught the alleged offender. According to information gathered about it, it is a woman serving as an officer in the DBE. Strongly suspected of being the source of the disclosure of the document, she should visit in the coming days the disciplinary bodies of the army.

Nevertheless, the leaked document highlights the threat to the capital, which for the moment is contained by the defense and security forces as evidenced by the recent dismantling of weapons hidden near the capital city at the home of a relative of a suspected member of Boko Haram, imprisoned in Yaounde. Also, the investigation informed about the extent of the threat to the Cameroonian capital.
