Notebooks become scarce in Cameroon

"Hard to find books!, Richard Yéméli, sales agent in a paper mill in the central market in Yaoundé expressed his confusion.

"We are facing supply difficulties; the amount of books that we purchased this year for marketing is in significant decline. For the commercial officer, the cause of the unavailability of these school supplies is not distant. "The difficulties facing the port of Douala in relation to the fluidity of the output of goods compel us to take other routes."

"As a result, prices were increased from between 200 to 500 F per notebooks pack", adds Richard Yéméli. Same in supermarkets, Duclair Tassong, responsible for a store at Tsekenis: "We are asked to wait.

The majority of the books we sell come from our reservations. Annoying for the supermarket who only offers notebooks of foreign brands (Oxford, Scripto, calligrapher, Clairefontaine, Millenium...) however, the Manager certifies that there has been no price increase due to the lack of books.
