Nkol-Afamba community to launch major projects

The municipality is considering the construction of a large market, a bus station, and a rest area. The commune of Nkol-Amfamba in the department of the Mefou and Afamba are committing themselves resolutely in the train of great achievements.

Thus, at the level of the river Adjeme, bordering with the commune of Yaounde IV, a market will be created, a bus station, and a rest area thanks to an allocation of 4 and a half hectares of field with which the town hall has begun negotiations.

These projects are estimated at a Cost of 2 billion F. With the support of the government, a project for the construction of social housing is also envisaged.

These are a few of the resolutions taken Friday on the occasion of the work of the Council of this commune chaired by Dominique Yangse, sub-prefect of Nkol-Afamba , on behalf of the prefect of Mefou and Afamba.

According to the mayor Jean-Fran çois Ondigui Owona, agents of the commune have done hand low on the revenues. "The teams were going on the ground sometimes without badge and without authorization to collect money. It had become a shambles in which there was confusion of roles", he deplored.

To curb this phenomenon, he announced an improvement in governance that integrates a redefinition of roles with the forthcoming introduction of a flowchart in preparation.

In its development plan, the commune of Nkol-Afamba announced the signaling at the major crossroads of Nkoabang which is today the subject of an anarchic occupation on the part of traders and carriers.

With an estimated budget of up to a hundred million F, the commune also intends to tackle the multiple constructions which do not adhere to the plan of demarcation in order to achieve set goals.
