A week after the discovery of the gruesome scene, a Nigerian who was alleged to have committed these heinous crimes, is still on the run.

The inhabitants of Njeng, located 3 kilometers from Mangoulè in the borough of Nkam, have lost sleep. This was after 33 unidentified bodies were found on a palm grove of this locality situated 20 kilometers from the city of Douala.

According to information gathered from the residents, it was during the search for a motorcycle driver who went missing in recent days, that the appalling scene was discovered.

“My motorcycle driver colleague transported a passenger to Mangoulè and charged a large sum of money. He told me before leaving, because usually this is how we operate. A few days later I was still unable to contact him. That’s when I decided to go to his home. So I alerted colleagues and we went to the palm grove. To out utmost surprise, we discovered about 30 bodies including that of our colleague, others decomposed, and even skeletons and skulls could be seen," said a motorcycle driver.

After discovering the sad scene, local residents went to the home of the owner of the palm grove to confront him. According to reliable information, a Nigerian bought the land and planted a palm grove about 30 years ago.

“His goal was not to sell palm nuts or oil but to decapitate humans and sell them overseas, since he lived on the palm grove,” said a resident of the area.

According to information, that Nigeria targeted mostly motorcycle drivers, "he used to send one of his accomplices to borad a bike to Njeng, against a large sum of money. Thus once the motorcycle driver was in the palm grove, he was seized by his tormentors and killed," recounted another inhabitant.

After committing several of these crimes, the alleged murderer ran away with his only 15-year old son. Informed, the Governor of the Littoral Region Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboa, visited the scene and ordered that the perpetrator be captured alive in the shortest time possible.
