The week started badly for the people of Nguetchewe, a town in the Far North region.

For the first time, they were targeted as suspected members of Boko Haram.

This was after a suicide attack in the early hours of Monday, January 18, 2016, in a Mosque in the area, which killed six people.

This is the second time in the space of five days that the terrorists were able to strike in a sacred place. The first suicide attack had on January 13, had left 13 people dead at Kouyapé, another town in the Far North region.

Aside this terrorist act, our sources are reporting that a mistake by the Nigerian Army has claimed the lives of two Cameroonian civilians in Achigachia, a town in Cameroon, which borders Nigeria.

"A shell by the Nigerian army was mistakenly fired at the locality of Achigachia and left two dead and five wounded among the villagers,” said our colleague.

Since the new year began in 2016, the Far North region has not had a single day pass by without suspected members of Boko Haram attacks, despite the deployment of the Multinational Force in the region.
