In a statement, Colonel Sani Usman addressed the Islamist group which prevails in northern Nigeria. "We want to tell them that we know all their armour, their camps and enclaves. They should imitate their colleagues who have already surrendered," said the colonel who is also the spokesman of the army.

Boko Haram has become a threat in the region and military forces of the nations involved are active in the struggle to end the abuses of this group.

Without surrendering, the terrorists will face serious consequences according to the statement. "We also appeal to members of the international community and the world at large to kindly persuade Boko Haram terrorists and their accomplices to stop carrying out terrorist acts," the statement said.

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has given the military hierarchy until December to stop the actions of the Islamist group.
