Nigeria-Cameroon cooperation for control on the quality of service of operators

The Director general of the Telecommunications Regulation Agency (ART) in Cameroon, Jean Louis Beh Mengué, signed on June 19, 2015, a Memorandum of understanding with Okechukwu Itanyi, Executive Commissioner of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC),in Abuja, Nigeria.

This Act, announced ART in an official statement, aims to strengthen cooperation between the two regulators who have worked together for a decade within the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization.

According to ART, the strengthening of cooperation with the regulator of telecommunications in Nigeria, first economic powerhouse of the African continent, should allow it to benefit from the 20 years' experience of the NCC, on a Nigerian telecoms market more dynamic and more competitive than that of Cameroon.

Specifically, underlines the release, the NCC will support ART in areas such as the control of the quality of telecom service operators exercising in Cameroon, as well as the protection of consumers.
