National Volunteerism Program to be elaborated

In a bid to elaborate the National Program of Volunteerism, the Ministry of Youth and Civic Education, today April 19, 2016, received in audience the head of UN Volunteer Program Geoffrey Prewitt.

Accompanied by the Portfolio Manager of UN Volunteer for West and Central Africa-Paul Armand Menye, the two UN officials interacted with a host of Directors at the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education in a discussion chaired by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education Mounouna Foutsou.

For the National Program on Volunteerism to become a reality, partnership between the Ministry and the UN Volunteers will need to be reinforced, so to promote youth engagement in advancing Cameroon’s development.

The UN Volunteer head further reiterated that the partnership will be a long lasting one and that they are in a process of developing feasibility studies that will finance the project.
