National Museum officially reopens tomorrow

The National Museum officially reopens its doors to the public tomorrow. The absence of such a place dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the rich cultural heritage, has long deprived many visitors, both foreign and nationals of the cultural beauty and essence all found within Cameroon, a country deemed as 'miniature Africa'.

The current and future generations of our country cannot build the future without our cherished tangible and intangible cultural tenets.

The national museum is a place of memory. It is now located at the former Presidential Palace. What is left, is for the authorities to put in place a management structure sufficiently equipped to sustain the operation of this major infrastructure of our culture.

In this regard, the strategic vision for MINAC, through a non-profit foundation receiving donor contributions, is to allow the national museum to earn foreign currency for its survival.

However, the restyled national museum is far from being an end in itself. It's a step for the backup and recovery of the many and varied wealth of the national cultural heritage.
