National Gendarmerie discontent

Gendarmerie Gendarmerie

Senior officers of the National Ggendarmerie are not happy with the last decree of the Head of State, Paul Biya, appointing five new brigadiers.

This is because no promotion was made in their organization.

According to the daily Mutations newspaper in its edition on Thursday, August 20, 2015, the Act of the Chief of Army has not gone unnoticed, especially because the national gendarmerie has only six generals still active within the thirty in the army.

Moreover, the red berets have also lost two generals between 2014 and 2015: Major General Mambou Deffo, former inspector general of the gendarmerie and Secretary of State to the Minister of Defence in charge of the National Gendarmerie (Sed) and Brigadier General Mohamadou Hamadicko, former Director General of the EIFORCES.

Mutations newspaper indicated that the Act of the head of state on August 13 did not include the replacement of the two general officers who died which has resulted in misunderstandings. It should be noted that with the exception of the first and second region gendarmerie commanded by generals, the third and fourth newly created region are controlled by colonels.

The journal also stressed that before the decree on Thursday, the last appointment of the general by President Paul Biya dates back to March 11, 2011. The President of the Republic had appointed 10 colonels and naval captains to brigadier general rank and Cons -Amiral. There were also two general officers of gendarmerie on the lists.

As a reminder, the national gendarmerie has six generals. The generals are Ivo Desancio Yenwo, Division (Head of presidential security); Simon Peter Dagafounangsou (Commander of the gendarmerie first region command post in Yaoundé); Laurent Claude Angouan'd (Central Director of Administration and Logistics in the national gendarmerie); Isidore Obama (2nd Gendarmerie Commander of the region); General Daniel Njock Elokobi (Director of the central coordination of the national gendarmerie) and Doualla Massango.
