National Assembly connected to ICT

Last Friday, deputies did not hide their surprise at the end of the plenary meeting for tabling texts.

"The Internet is perfect. I was able to test it on my phone and my Ipad," indicated Yves Martin Assiga Ahanda, MP for the CPDM in Mfoundi.

Indeed, since October 2, thanks to the action of the network of parliamentarians on the information and communication technologies (Repatic), many rooms frequented by MPs are now connected to the wifi network.

This is the case of the House, the lobby and the Commissions of the 2nd floor room. This was made possible thanks to a French mobile phone company operating in Cameroon who agreed to gracefully make this technology available to members.

For the president of Repatic, Member of Parliament Julien Bara of the Mayo-Sava district in the North, "with this system, parliamentarians will easily read the documentation and learn. The first step is done."

For him, it is now a matter of emphasis on the training of parliamentarians for appropriation of this tool. Task to tackle in the coming weeks the parliamentarians network on information and communication technologies.
