NCHRF: 18th ordinary session ends with renowned commitments

The 18th Ordinary session of the National Commission for Human Rights and Freedom has held in Yaounde.

The conference which took place on 29th April 2015 was presided by the chairperson of the commission Dr. Divine Chemuta Banda.

During the session he saluted efforts made by the state to guarantee employment for youths and create favorable conditions for self-employment.

He also expressed the wish that government continues to combat unemployment and guarantee favorable working conditions for workers.

The 18th Ordinary session also examined some issues raised during the previous session notably the role of the National Commission for Human Rights and Freedom in the instability caused by the Boko Haram insurgencies in the Far North Region of Cameroon.

The Commission also raised concerns about insufficient funds to effectively carry out its missions and the issue of re-accreditation amongst other current challenges.

Chairperson Dr. Divine Chemuta Banda finally called on members to uphold only virtues that are capable of advancing the commission.

He recommended greater commitment and cooperation as the institution advanced into its 2015 goals.
