The hunger strike by musicians scheduled for September 18, 2015 in front of the Prime Minister's office, embassies of the United States and France in Yaounde was narrowly avoided.

On high instruction from President Paul Biya, the Minister of Arts and Culture, Ama Tutu Muna announced that ahead of exceptional division, the fee payable in respect of copyright and related rights of the musical art sector, is scheduled for September 23, 2015.

Le Soir newspaper in its edition of Friday, September 18, 2015 speaks of a decision " that it arrives in time when the school year gives parents difficult times." This distribution should enable concerned parents to meet their family obligations in this period of school year.

The association of Democratic Musicians Organizations (RDOM) reacted immediately after the good news. In a statement, Rdom cancelled the hunger strike scheduled to take place.

According to the newspaper, the same group thanks the President of the Republic, the Minister of State in charge of Justice, the Minister of Arts and Culture and the ambassadors of the United States and France.

Gratitude "for the quickness of their response and care to which they have shown to Cameroon Music creators in this back to school period."

The Ad Hoc Committee established by the Minac responsible for payment of copyright musicians is headed by François Misse Ngoh and as members, representatives of SOCACIM, the SCAS, the SYNAPROM and RAPAC.
