The Commissioner for peace and security of the African Union, Smail Chergui, has signed a 6 billion FCFA reimbursement with Cameroon via the Ministry of Defense.

Smail Chergui confirmed this yesterday, October 12, 2015.

The signed agreement was for the installation of the logistics continental base of the African Force pending in Douala.

"The transfer was made on Friday and I believe that this issue is definitely behind us with our gratitude for these soldiers of peace. We thank them for their patience but also the diligent measures taken by the government while waiting for the issue to be definitively resolved", he said.

The Cameroonian military, tired of waiting for payment of their premiums after the service rendered in Central Africa within the Minusca, had demonstrated peacefully in the streets of Yaoundé, the capital.

They were immediately paid, the sum of 6 billion FCFA on an order from the head of State Paul Biya, while awaiting that this money be repaid by the African Union which was in charge of paying these uniform men.
