The United Nations Fund for population has just proposed to the Government of Cameroon a document which aims to urge the youth to ensure their contribution to the development of the country.

On June 1, the Minister of youth and civic education (Minjec), Bidoum Kwpatt held a meeting in Yaounde with a delegation from the United Nations population Fund designed to present a document that highlights the leadership of youth and health issues.

According to Dr. Barbara Mckinney Sow, the representative of the United Nations population Fund, it was important for them to "share a framework document which unites all the agencies of the United Nations system to have a common vision on how the system is going to accompany the Ministry for enrichment and support of youth.

The document in question has three pillars: youth leadership, youth employment and health. These three pillars have a lot of specific priorities which are currently developed by the agencies. The purpose of the meeting was to propose to the Minjec this document as a platform to start a partnership," the UN representative noted.

The Ministry of youth and civic education thanked them for the multifaceted action on the ground and promised to study the document with his colleagues.

This Department is responsible for the development and implementation of Government policy in the field of youth. This extensive program takes into account the concerns of young people in development strategies, promoting economic and social youth, coordination and monitoring of associations and youth movements, education for citizenship of youth.

The United Nations population Fund presents itself as an international organization for development whose mission is to promote the right to health for people and equality of opportunities for every man, woman and child. It accompanies Government's perspective to take into account population data.
