The Minister of Trade, Luc Magloire Atangana Mbarga, has moved on to enforce the new fuel prices after Paul Biya's statement on December 31, 2015.

According to Luc Mbarga, a liter of super will undergo a decrease of 20 FCFA while and that of diesel will lose 25 CFA francs.

"Firm instructions have been given to all the downstream oil sector operators for the new prices to be introduced and in a strict application on the national territory effective from January 1, 2016," said the MINCOMMERCE.

Thus, on January 1 and 2, Mr. Atangana Mbarga himself, visited all service stations in Yaoundé ensuring that the decision of the Head of State is respected.

Everywhere and at every stage, the Mbarga, who also is chairman of the Board of the Caisse de Stabilisation des Prix des Hydrocarbures (CSPH) demanded that the liter of premium gasoline be sold at 630 CFA francs and a liter of diesel at 575 CFA francs.

However, managers of recalcitrant stations refused to automatically switch to the prices on the first day of the year, the seals were affixed at different service stations.

At the same time, the regional and departmental delegations of the Ministry of Commerce were similar across the national triangle.
