Minac seeks 4 billion for cultural promotion

The Ministry of Arts and Culture (Minac) seeks funding to implement and organize activities of some three programs scheduled to start in the next fiscal year. The sector has thus requested an overall funding of 4 billion, out of which 800 million will be set aside for investments.

The first program, presented by the Minister Ama Tutu Muna Wednesday, December 3 before the National Assembly Finance Committee was dedicated to the conservation of art and culture. It aims to establish an inventory of the tangible and intangible national culture; in order to ensure the promotion, and preservation of cultural heritage. The sector looks to invest in tourism enterprises, trade and craft can make it profitable.

The second programme of the Minac is interested in the strengthening of the unit of production of the goods and cultural services. Focusing on infrastructure and promoting internal and international art and culture originating from Cameroon, it will complement the previous programme that provides a basis for action.

The performance indicator will be the contribution of 35 billion of art and culture to the gross domestic product sub-sector, noted Minac.

Institutional support, object of the last 2015 program of this Ministry will "consolidate achievements" of this Department. In fact, the actions envisaged in this area are summed up in the coordination and follow-up of activities; improving the framework and the working conditions; the development of human resources; communication control and audit.
