Military preparations intensify for National Day Celebration

Members of the military corps have started preparations ahead of the 43rd edition of the National Day to be celebrated on 20th May 2015.

The military personnel have since Monday 20th April 2015, been organising march practice sessions along the street of the Military Headquarters in Ngoaekelle, ahead of the grand event..

According to one of the Colonels in charge of the training, today 22nd April 2015 marks day-two of their training. He explained that the march practice sessions shall be tri-weekly until 4th May after which the sessions shall be increased to five days a week.

One other personnel who preferred anonymity indicated that practice sessions run from 8:30 am till about midday.

The Colonel remarked that the turn out so far has been encouraging and notes that the number will swell up in the days ahead.

The military band is on hand to guide those marching with selected rhythms.

The determined faces, graceful marching steps and straight lines characteristic of today’s march practice session could serve as an indicator that the military men and women are sure to stage a significant performance this 20th May 2015.
