The strike action by medical and health personnel of Cameroon which began on Monday June 1 came to an end on June 4, 2015 after a meeting with the Minister of Public Health to deliberate on the issues.

The action was as a result of government’s silence on their grievances and “not being able to solve a single problem”, noted Sylvain Nga Onana, the President of Syndicat National des Personnels des établissements du Secteur de la Santé du Cameroun (Cap/santé).

According to a statement from the Prime Minister made public today, the strike was suspended following a consultation meeting between unions and the government.
