Mathematics Made Essay!

A collection of three textbooks on the subject published by SOPECAM was presented to the public in Douala.

The academic curriculum for francophone upper sixth students has been enriched by a set of three new mathematics textbooks, published by the Cameroon News and Publishing Corporation, better known by its French acronym, SOPECAM. During a solemn book launch ceremony at the Littoral Regional Delegation of Culture on Thursday May 2, the public was able to gain first-hand knowledge on the publication's background, content and context.

The first set of books Mathematics Science divided into volumes I and II regroup 441 and 479 exercises, respectively, aimed at preparing student for official examinations. It offers past questions, proposes problem solving solution with guidelines on how to tackles a mathematic question. The second book Experimental Science is a collection of 484 maths exercises with the objective of widening students' learning scope through a presentation of different facets of the subjects. Apart from the student population, the Maths Made Essay Collection can equally serve as a workbook for teachers, lecturers and even researchers both at national and the international levels. The compilation comes in, in the wake of questions on supplementary material to what is taught in schools, offers a chance for learners to test their skills, and can be described as a response to boosting academic performance.

Addressing the audience, the author, Bampena Yong explained that he started working on the collection 2002 and hoped to have met up with the aspiration of the learning population. It was equally moment to present the numerous opportunities SOPECAM offers to the writing population, especially in its bid to promote reading and writing cultures in Cameroon.
