Maroua Regional Hospital receives medication and 2million FCfa

The Minister of Public Health (MOH), André Mama Fouda, went to Maroua in the Far North region on a two-day working visit on August 4, 2015.

The delegation included the MOH, André Mama Fouda; SM Alim Garga Hayatou, the Secretary of State for Health in charge of epidemics and pandemics in Lamido of Garoua; Dr. Jean-Baptiste Roungou representing the World Health Organization (WHO) in Cameroon, as well as other close associates.

André Mama Fouda first stopped at the Regional Hospital on his arrival in Maroua. While at the hospital, the MOH inquired about the health of victims of the recent terrorist attacks in Maroua which has been affected by a lot of attacks recently. The MOH also discussed with the health personnel on duty to know the measures taken to provide the best possible care to victims of the attacks.

The Minister of Public Health sent a message of comfort to the 20 patients he visited. He wished them a speedy recovery as they enjoy free medical care.

Before leaving, André Mama Fouda announced that new health insurance schemes will be implemented within a short notice to deal with insecurity in the Far North Region.

He presented a donation of medicines, medical equipment and a premium of 2 million FCfa to encourage health workers who do their best to save lives during the sad events (Islamists attacks) that have cast a cloud on several families in the city of Maroua.

The MOH also promised to stuff the hospital with drugs in the coming days.
