Maroua Attack: hospital reports 21 dead and 63 wounded

According to a provisional toll given by the regional hospital administration in Maroua, the attack on Saturday, July 25, 2015, led to 21 deaths and 63 people injured.

The number of the dead could increase with regard to the critical condition of some injured whose health is deteriorating, says the doctor in his statement.

The Minister of Communication, in a statement read on State radio, noted 14 dead and 20 wounded.

The Director of the Maroua Regional Hospital, Dr. Sadjo, told Koaci.com he wished that the official death toll is pronounced by the authorities.

Surely, the country has just experienced the worst attack in its history.

The Suicide Attack

According to our information, two suicide bombers whose ages range between 12 and 15 years old, and wearing a head scarf, exploded around the Green bridge at 7:35 pm (6:35 GMT), in Maroua which houses the services of the Governor (the administrative centre) in a busy bar, where a great multitude of people were present to consume a local drink called "Bili-Bili.

The girl was accompanied in her dirty work by another young man, who also blew himself up, revealed the sources, and eyewitnesses.

According to other reports, a suspect being the brains behind these attacks in Maroua, was arrested by plainclothes security agents. At the same time, the police who quickly cordoned off the area, proceeded to conduct several arrests, we learn.

In the space of a month, the country was rocked by three suicide attacks. Fotokol on 12 July (13 dead and 7 wounded), the Maroua central market on 22 July (14 dead and 31 wounded) and at the Green Bridge on 25 July (21 dead and 63 wounded).

Remarkably, none of these attacks has been so far claimed by Boko Haram, (Islamic State in West Africa).
