Pauline Laure Hiol, an employee of MTN Cameroon, was found dead in her house which is located at Anguissa neighbourhood in Yaounde, on October 20, 2015.

The daily Le Jour newspaper reported yesterday that the body was found in a decomposed form and indicated that investigation is ongoing at the Research Brigade of Yaoundé 3 and management of the judicial police.

According to our colleague (Le Jour), the last time the young woman was seen at her workplace at the regional office of MTN Cameroon in Yaoundé was on Thursday, October 15, 2015.

"On Friday last weekend, she was absent. Monday, she did not show up at work. Worried, her superiors rummaged through the files of that employee's recruitment call service (call center) and found her father's number, he was introduced as the person to contact in case an emergency.

Informed of the unjustified absence of her daughter to work, the father in turn, contacted the nephew of Pauline Laure to inform him about the situation. The nephew, who lives in Emombo (neighbouring district of Anguissa) after several unsuccessful calls to Pauline's phone went to her house," the newspaper reported.

Reporters of Le Jour disclosed that given the state in which the body was found, the young 29-year-old woman was raped before being killed. "Photographs which were taken after her body was found showed a body covered with a flowered cloth.

The young woman was lying on her stomach, as if asleep. By raising the cloth, it was realized that she was without an underwear. Her underwear was by her and soaked in blood," described Le Jour. It was also found out that local residents who attended the call-box claimed Thursday afternoon was the last time they saw the deceased.

"A man in a huge car parked in front of her gate and called, but she did not open the gate. He waited for sometime and saw another gentleman get off a taxi and went in. Half an hour later he was gone. The young woman went out with this second visitor. She returned with a third and since then no one knows what happened. No one saw her," said a neighbour.
