Civil and Military women of the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) have offered gifts to some Cameroonian and Chadian soldiers who sustained injuries while defending the nation against the terrorist sect, Boko Haram.

The women made the donations during a visit this 4th February 2015, to their comrades at the Military Hospital in Yaounde, ahead of activities to commemorate the 30th edition of the International Women's Day.

While handing over the gifts to the soldiers, the Director of Administrative and Regulatory Affairs, Colonel Yakah thanked the men for their patriotism and bravery in defending their nation against Boko Haram. The Colonel emphasised that the women are happy and share in their pain.

The Minister of Defence, Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo’o on his part and on behalf of the Head of State, lauded the women for their kind gesture and encouraged other well-wishers to emulate their example. He noted that while the armed forces are fighting, citizens are to be engaged in supporting them.

One of the wounded soldiers, Ngouloure expressed profound gratitude for the gifts offered by the civil and military women of MINDEF, saying the articles will go a long way to help them.

The articles donated ranged from food items to toiletries, water and beverages
