Lucien Kombou, first African management associate dies at 59

Former Dean at the Faculty of applied economic sciences and management at the University of Douala died in the early hours of Sunday in the economic capital after prolonged illness.

Professor Lucien Kombou, died on the night of 11th-12th October 2014 at the general hospital in Douala at 59 years.

He was diagnosed of stroke which led to many complications that has troubled him for years. The management and finance specialist, made a 'docteur d'Etat' from the University of Bordeaux 1 in 1986 with distinction.

He was the first African management associate and was also known to be a computer genius. He began his teaching career in what is still the University of Yaoundé. Then, He joined the new University of Ngaoundéré where he took the reins at the Faculty of economic sciences and management.

Assigned to Douala, he revolutionized his new faculty by creating paid professional programs. This is one of the things that has earned him not only great friendships but aquaintances who have become more like family to him.

According to Charles Nforgang journalist who rubbed shoulders with him, the eminent economist departed in peace with much to be remembered about.
