The Indomitable Lionesses have taken the steps of the Indomitable Lions by refusing to accept their premiums if they were not paid in full.

Like their male counterparts, the Lionesses demanded their premium be paid fully without taking out the 16.5% tax rate non-business entities imposed by law N°2014/026 of 23 December 2014 bearing Finance Law of the Republic of Cameroon for the 2015 financial year.

The payments which were decreased from FCFA 21,000,000 to 17,535,000 FCFA was not taken kindly by the Lionesses. Christine Manie and her teammates refused to accept the offer. After a cooperative protest, they finally got their due 21 million CFA francs each.

However the December 23 2014 law which was implemented since February 2015 in other sports revealed that the Lionesses were not the first to experience this situation.

According to camfoot, the Indomitable Lions had been through the same ordeal when 16.5% of their premiums were taken from their pay after their June 14 victory against Mauritania at the qualifiers of CAN 2017.

Officials of Directorate General of Taxation tried to retain that part of the money. However, Stephane Mbia and his teammates had threatened not to take the money if a penny was missing. After negotiations did not go any further, Volker Finke and his men received all of their money.

"They wanted to cut our premiums, but we refused. We said that if the state does not give us all our money, then they should keep everything. Discussions were held with the captains on the night after our win. We insisted that we would not take it if it was not paid in full; eventually they paid the full amount”, a source from the Lioness camp revealed.

Back from the Women’s Soccer Championships in Canada, the ladies stayed with the Coach, Enow Ngachu in Hotel Mont Febe in Yaoundé for three days.
