Korean company to implement e-clearance

Customs Customs

The Cameroonian government and the Korean company, Compass, signed a memorandum of understanding for the establishment of a platform for e-customs clearance on behalf of local Customs on September 5, 2015, in Yaoundé, according to sources close to the case.

According to Lee Don-Hyunn, head of Compass, the e-clearance platform, which is of interest to the Cameroon Customs administration, consists of a set of modules that allow importers and exporters to perform their clearance remotely using an internet connection.

The introduction of new technologies in Customs procedures in Cameroon, supported by the Compass, is based on the impact of this experience in Korea. It will facilitate the increase in the collection of Customs revenue expected and, above all, much more transparency in Customs activities.
