Jean-Paul Akono enraged over son's release

The former coach of the Indomitable Lions Jean Paul Akono is disappointed with courts for releasing his son and plans to abandon initiated prosecutions.

Coach Paul Akono who is undergoing health care and rehabilitation in Vichy (France) has learned with shock the news of the release of Christian Mballa Mekongo, his adopted son he accused of stealing over 19 million francs from him on a trip to France last year.

“I learned a few days ago that Mr. Mballa Mekongo was released on bail by a magistrate under unclear conditions. I am really disappointed to find out that this gentleman who committed such an outrageous act has found freedom even if it is provisional.

I do not know what Mballa Mekongo did to put the magistrate on his side, as he had done since the investigations. I am really disappointed by the Cameroonian justice', he commented Thursday on radio Amplitude Fm in Yaoundé.

The former Lions coach is so disappointed the renowned engineer announces that he will abandon proceedings against his son.
