'Jadida vegetable oil is not carcinogenic'

On the sidelines of the ceremony of farewell to the Ambassador of Tunisia to the Minister of trade Tuesday, the export manager of the mark denied the carcinogenic nature of the product.

The Minister of Commerce (Mincommerce), Luc Magloire Atangana Mbarga received in audience Tuesday, Ambassador of Tunisia in Cameroon. H.E Abderrazak Landoulsi was accompanied by his Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Jakhlouti Mohamed Salah, and the export manager of the Group Poulina Holding (soybean Jadida oil company), Zied Ben Romdhane.

Abderrazak Landoulsi said he has kept many good memories of Cameroon. For him, it is a privilege to have started his career as a young diplomat in Cameroon in 1982 for almost two years and terminate in 2015, after a stay of four and a half years. On the diplomatic level, Abderrazak indicated that his country considers Cameroon as a great ally and as an economic choice partner.

On the other hand, the hearing with the Mincommerce was an opportunity for Zied Ben Romdhane, export manager of Poulina Group Holding, manufacturer of Jadida products, to revisit the controversy maintained for some time on its soybean oil marketed in Cameroon.

According to him, this controversy is designed to tarnish the image of Jadida producers, in particular this oil products. For this purpose, he confirmed that the products are not carcinogenic as suggested by some sources. According to the industrialist, the oil is consumed in about 10 African countries and has never caused illness in any.
