Issa Hayatou recruits Joseph Owona

Iya Mohammed is no longer a member of the Committees and Expert Bodies of the Confederation of African Football (Caf) and high among the new representatives of Cameroon within these bodies that govern African football is Joseph Owona.

The President of the Cameroon Football Federation Standards Committee (FECAFOOT) is among the 28 members of the organizing committee of the African Cup of Nations.

This implies that Joseph Owona will work alongside Moses Katumbi (the chairman of TP Mazembe and Acting Governor of Katanga in the DRC), Amos Adamu (former President of the Nigeria Football Federation) and South Africa's Danny Jordaan. This commission made up of the larger heads of management of the continental football.

Joseph Owona is not the only member of the Standards Committee chosen by Caf to reconstitute its committees and bodies. His namesake Pascal Baylon Owona who is not new to the sport has been added to the Finance Committee.

Former teammates of Iya Mohammed will keep their positions, thus, Mohamadou Abbo, Vice President of FECAFOOT under Iya Mohammed is still a member of the organizing committee of club competitions, while qu'Aboubacar Alim Konaté, former president of the Northern regional League still is a member of the board of organization of the African Junior Championship.

Tombi Roko remains on the Commission for the management of the granting of Caf club licensing system. Oumarou Fadil, Prosper Abéga, Marcel Njipendi, Mr. Charles Nguini, Dr. Jean Marc Ngalle Mbondjo make the list.
