Imminent extension for Finke

Out of contract since May 2015, Volker Finke could sign his contract extension by the first week in November.

This was an instruction from the Minister of Sports and Physical Education. On Monday, Bidoung Mkpatt asked Tombi A Roko, President of FECAFOOT, to "urgently finalize contracts framers techniques for the national football team and appoint officials at all stations provided."

According to the head of Cameroonian Sports, signing Volker Finke and his collaborators of the technical staff of the selection of the national team is important for the proper performance of the tasks assigned to them.

These include from qualification to the finals of 2017 African Nations Cup when Stéphane Mbia and his teammates are expected on the podium, qualification to the final phase of the World Cup in Russia 2018 and the coronation of AFCON 2019 in Cameroon.

Finke meets Bidoung

Volker Finke met with the new Minister of Sport and Physical Education in Yaoundé. Several subjects were on the agenda during the meeting between Bidoung Mkpatt and the German technician. Among the discussion was a talk on his contractual situation.

According to camfoot sources, Bidoung Mkpatt has asked the tactician to stay in Cameroon for a few days to extend his contract. But the coach had asked permission from the minister to scout players in Europe for the Lions who will face Niger in November, as part of the FIFA World Cup 2018.
