The President of the Republic received at the Unity Palace on Friday the Director of Cabinet of the President of Chad, Mangaral Banté.

The discussions between both parties took an hour and a half signifying the depth of the issues embedded in the message of Chadian president Idris Deby through his envoy Mangaral Banté.

Speaking to the press after the discussion with the President, the Chadian envoy first appreciated the good relations and cooperation that exist between Cameroon and Chad.

He said his presence in Yaounde is part of the regular consultations between the two countries and the two heads of state. Mangaral Banté said he has been sent by the head of the Chadian state to send a message to President Paul Biya. This message, he added, "addresses issues related to our economy, politics and security".

Asked about security issues and particularly the struggle of the two countries against the terrorist sect Boko Haram, Mr. Mangaral Banté responded with news from the Chadian front. He mentioned the recent attacks by the terrorist sect in Chadian territory and repulsed attacks by Chadian troops.

Accompanied by the Chadian ambassador in Cameroon, Mr. Moustapha Abachou Brahimi, the emissary of President Idriss Deby Itno was greeted on his arrival by the chief of protocol Simon Pierre Bikelé, with ceremonial guard of honor composed of members of the Presidential Guard.
