IPU declares Dieudonne Ambassa Zang innocent

The organization comprising of members from around the world has just published a report in which it argues that the former Cameroonian Minister of public works is a victim of the work of purification that may have initiated the caciques of the CPDM against one of them who opted out of the ruling party.

The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) visited the case of Dieudonne Ambassa Zang, former MP and Minister of public works in Cameroon who has sought refuge in Europe. The organization which brings together members all over the planet has just published a report that whitens the ex-elected of the CPDM.

In the document published in mid-October 2014, IPU denounced the violation of the rules of procedure of the control of budgetary and financial discipline.

It argued that the accounts of public companies, ministries and other State bodies that manage public funds is audited annually by CONSUPE and that Ambassa Zang has never been informed of audits, or invited to take part "just as he was not been informed of their findings and invited to comment', added the authors of this species of counter statement.

The IPU noted that "Ambassa Zang is not guilty of offense of diversion of any sum whatsoever for his benefit. The charges relate to objective facts and that the relevant documents are available at the Ministry of public works at the office of the Prime Minister, the regulatory agency of public contracts and donors such as the 'Agence française de développement'.

Supporters of the former Minister of public works of Cameroon indicated that his inability to provide the evidence of detailed expenditures, 10 to 12 years ago (2002-2004) is not enough to establish the offence of embezzlement.

They recall in passing that the Director of the AFD, one of the structures which were complaints of embezzlement, wrote in a letter dated January 7, 2014, that it has filed no complaint against Ambassa Zang.
