I'm fine thank you - Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo

The Cameroonian Minister of External Relations, Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo is back in Yaoundé to clear speculations that he was bed ridden after a 7-day stay in France.

He explained to the daily Mutations in its May 27, 2015 issue that, “Like any human being I was suddenly a fatigue victim. I was admitted at the General Hospital in Yaoundé.

On the fourth day of been hospitalized I was already out in the hallway of the hospital. I did not do AVC. I was never unconscious or between life and death as was said or written. The proof is that I responded to all requests, including the ones from journalists."

This distress that some have described as stroke, caused considerable controversy in the media and social networks. It was a wild rumor stating that the minister had been off on a stretcher and even hiked to the capital last weekend.

Based on this assumption, the minister said, “I had to go to Europe for a check-up. I give thanks to God because everything went well. People have spread lies about me. My wife and children have even received condolences following these lies. I am a human being who can fall sick like those who spread all those rumors”.

“The doctor assessed that after seven days in Europe, I can and now I’m here. I arrived on my two legs, like when I left Yaoundé. Not on a stretcher. When I left the capital about a week ago I did not go in an Olympic style. I went through the necessary formalities and I sat in the lane with both legs”, he concluded.

Since the beginning of this week, Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo is back in the capital.
