Hydrocarbons Pipeline - Project to Inter-Connect Cameroon's Cites Discussed

A petroleum transportation company, Petroleum Product Pipeline S.A. yesterday, February 18, 2013 presented to the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang, a project to inter-connect Cameroon's main cities with reliable hydrocarbons supply pipeline. Officials of the Petroleum Product Pipeline SA led by its President, Yi Sang Ki, accompanied by the Chairman of the partner West African Investment Corporation, WAICO Ltd, Sayyu Dantata and the Honorary Consul of Korea to Cameroon, Mohamadou Dabo had a working session with Prime Minister and his close aides at the Star Building.

Information from the company indicate that their target is inter-connecting the Limbe-Douala-Edea-Kribi-Yaounde-Bafoussam and Bamenda. As to when the project will start, the Chairman of WAICO Ltd, Sayyu Dantata talked of visible signs towards the second quarter of 2013, stating that its cost could be between 200 to 300 million US Dollars depending on the landscape. "We are here to look for the possibility of laying a pipeline to be able to inter-connect main cities, to make life more meaningful and reduce accidents involving trucks on the roads. When the project will go operational, Cameroon's annual budget could have an income of more than FCFA 300 billion in State subsidies.
