The president of CENC, who is also the Metropolitan Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Douala, Bishop Samuel Kleda, said “Christians and all people with morals have to mobilize to stop homosexuality" as it is factual that it is an "abomination".

Despite pressures from associations of the Western world towards "the popularization of homosexuality in Africa", stresses the Church, “we must stand firm against these unnatural practices because this is wrong in terms of morality, culture and law in Cameroon”.

For the Catholic Church, “it is better to obey God than men. By instituting marriage, God wanted that it should be between man and a woman.”

In other words, "How can we live in a world where men marry men and women marry women and will at the same time ensure the act of procreation" questioned the Church.

In Cameroon, homosexuality is a crime charged by criminal penalties in accordance with the law.
