Helicopters intercepted in SouthWest Region

The Cameroon military lately intercepted some three helicopters flying across Lobe in the Ndian Division of Southwest region.

The helicopter crew who said they were tourists from Middle East, are said to have been taken to Douala for questioning for using the country's airspace without any authorisation. It is believed that they were arrested after one of the three helicopters developed a technical fault, thereby causing it to land. This, therefore, forced the other two to land.

This was when the soldiers were able to close in on the people demanding who they were and if they had any permission to fly over Cameroon's territory.

As a result of the threat from the Nigerian Islamic sect, Boko Haram, the military has been alert with all its borders militarized in order to put an end to the insecurity posed by this group.

It should be noted that Nigeria's coordinator-General, recently chastised Cameroon for an ineptitude in their efforts to clamp down Boko Haram from its territory.

Some progress was also made as captured foreigners(fathers Giampaolo Marta and Gianantonio Allegri and Rev. Sister Gilberte Bussiere) by Boko Haram were released
