General Baccalauréat results released

Since the release of the general Baccalauréat results on Friday, applicants have rushed to check their results in schools in Yaoundé and the rest of the country.

Young people flocked to the Lycée General Leclerc on Saturday morning, the day after publication of the results of the General Baccalauréat examination in Cameroon. Once inside, the result lists were targeted.

The mixed reactions reflected the results of each applicant after checking. They shouted and embraced one another showing their joy of becoming young graduates.

"I am very pleased and proud to have succeeded. I thank God for his grace. I revised a lot but my brother told me that was not all. During official examinations you also have to be smart. I think I was," said Marie-France Guebediang at Moumoko who was very happy.

In this euphoria, the future is not yet envisaged. "I have not yet selected a university. Tomorrow or in a week, I will see to it with my father," said the young lady.

While students continued to look through the lists, a mother made a follow up on her daughter’s results: Ms Eto'o.

"I followed my daughter's name on the radio but I still want to see the lists to confirm. I am a happy mother but it is still important that after listening, you pass by the examinations center to ensure the effectiveness of the child's success," she said joyfully.

Some were not happy as their result were not part. "I was an independent candidate. But I did not see our results list,” said a young man who was not happy about the turn of events.

He raised questions like, “Have they all failed? Has the list been forgotten? Fortunately, the censor, Mr. Baba was present. But in this last list he was about to show, the young man's name was not part. He was unhappy. His enthusiasm dropped a few minutes after. "I do not know what I will do. This is the fourth time I have failed to make it. I thought it was good. What will become of me? How many times will I write the baccalaureate before passing it?" he laments, regardless of his surroundings. There were many similar experiences at the other examination centres on Saturday.

Many have been successful with 113,000 candidates passing the exams. However, a lot more need to register again and prepare for next year. In Mballa II high school in Biyem-Assi, the atmosphere was almost the same; happiness for those who passed and tears were sheared by those who failed.

The rest now await the publication of success rates by the Office of the General Baccalaureate of Cameroon to ascertain whether the candidates in this session failed more than last year.
