Colonel Pilo Robert, Second Gendarmerie Region Commander with headquarters in Douala, set foot in Buea recently for his first official visit of Regional Gendarmerie Services in the South West Region.
Keeping to the official agenda, Colonel Pilo held a working session with local personnel in the South West Legion Office in Buea before visiting the Gendarmerie Company in Limbe from where he stopped over in the Gendarmerie Brigade Office in Tiko. Installed 16 July last year as Commander of the Second Gendarmerie Region comprising the Littoral, West, North West and South West Regions, Col. Pilo had certainly made contacts with all his services but without giving it the official colour of last 6 February.
On his arrival in Buea, the Commander was received by Colonel Souleymanou Massokano, South West Gendarmerie Legion Commander. He inspected a guard of honour commanded by Captain Lando Martin and proceeded with the introduction of local gendarmerie officials guided by their Legion commander, Colonel Pilo.
Given that Colonel Pilo's visit came while the population of Buea, regional headquarters and the entire South West is about to host the 50th anniversary celebrations of Cameroon's reunification, the Second Gendarmerie Region Commander assured the press that the personnel under him were up to the task to ensure protection and security of persons and property. He said, in response to a press question, that all his men had been mobilised and sensitised to the effect of playing their role to the fullest.
