Her professionalism and tact in football that has run through the competition was highlighted during the 2016 Women AFCON final between Cameroon and Nigeria.

Noteworthy is the fact that, after Cameroon’s match with the Black Queens of Ghana, a match that gave the Lionesses a qualification to play the finals with Nigeria, Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene,who currently plays for Rossiyanka in the Russian Championship, made vibes on the social media and remained the name on all lips.

The best player in the 2016 tournament was born in 25 February 1989, Aboudi Onguene aged 27 today is one of the valued players in the Cameroon National Women’s Football Team, the Indomitable Lionesses.

Aboudi began playing football with boys in her early years in a Douala neighbourhood club, Ngondi Nkam of Yabassi, where she was later spotted by a certain Ibrahim, who invited her to play with girls.

In 2003, the young girl started playing the female tournament in Yaounde, a period her agility wooed Canon Yaounde officials to signed her on.

After barely a year in the club, she was called up to the Women’s National Football Team.

In 2006, Aboudi’s brilliance with the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and the Family football team, Louves MINPROFF, Yaounde. won her several titles and admiration in the Women Football domain.

As a member of the Cameroonian national team she represented Cameroon at the 2012 Summer Olympics, scoring the team\'s only goal in the tournament.

Gabrielle Aboudi Onguéné’s defining moment came in 2015 when she went professional, joining top flight Russian club side, WFC Rossiyanka of Khimki.

She previously played for Alpha 09 Kaliningrad in the Russian second tier.

Today, Gabrielle Aboudi Onguéné is one of the pillars of the Indomitable Lionesses. She boasts of at least 53 call-ups, 15 goals and was amongst three players nominated for the Glo-CAF Awards in 2015.
