French Army obtains permit to pass through CMR territory

"A detachment of the French force "Sangaris", previously established in Central African Republic, will transition into the Cameroonian territory on Thursday 25 and Friday September 26, 2014 bound for Djamena, the capital of Chad, revealed an official statement published by the Minister of Transport.

According to "instructions'" from the "head of State", the french forces will be escorted by units of the national gendarmerie.

This detachment, composed of 125 soldiers and 35 vehicles, will pass through the Cameroonian territory "from the town of Garoua-Boulaï in the East of Cameroon, until Touboro by the North-East of the territory, with Ngaoundéré as intermediary, chief town of the area of Adamaoua", specifies Issa Tchiroma Bakary.

These soldiers will join the new French force based in Africa, Barkhane. It has been operational since August 1 at the headquarters based in Chad.

The French detachment which leaves the CAR took part in the securisation at the west of this country at the sides of MISCA, raises the official statement.

France leaves Central Africa because of the passage into force of the African Union, MISCA, baptized Minusca.
