The French community of Cameroon paid solidarity to the people of Fotokol by giving six containers of medical equipment for health assistance to victims of the suicide attack on Monday.

They were received at the Yaoundé Military Base 101 in the presence of René Emmanuel Sadi, Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization; André Mama Fouda, Minister of Public Health and Koumpa Issa, Secretary of State to the Mindef for Veterans.

For Pierre Clerfeuille, consular advisor of France speaking on behalf of the French community in Cameroon, this gesture is a “duty of condolence and paying homage to Cameroon, our second homeland.”

In Fotokol, the Far North, people are deploying various ways to detect suspicious people. The daily Cameroon Tribune had it on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 that, military officials in the region went to Fotokol to assess the security situation, cheer up, galvanize the troops and evacuate the wounded. They were taken to Maroua for proper care.

On the phone, Hayatou Oumarou, sub-prefect of Fotokol, described the atmosphere at that moment: "People are still in shock. The violence and two big explosions have created panic."

The governor of the region of the Far North, Midjiyiwa Bakary, had a meeting with his Staff all day on Monday. The objective was: “Up a notch in strengthening security measures, given the new procedure of Boko Haram”. The governor invited the population to report to the defense forces and authorities when they get suspicious of a likely attacker.

Clerfeuille added that there would be another support in the education sector with the supply of 55 000 school books for primary and secondary levels for institutions of the Far North.
