Four suspected suicide bombers arrested in Maroua, held in Yaoundé

Arrest Arrest

Four suspected suicide bombers, two men and two women, and 13 others who were arrested in Maroua were transferred aboard a plane of the Cameroonian army to Yaoundé a few days ago.

According to the daily Le Jour, on Monday, August 12, 2015, and quoting a military source, “they were taken to Yaoundé for investigation, at the request of the Minister of Defense.”

"We want and we will try to take everything we can from them. Every day, we try to make them talk to learn more about the sponsors of the attacks in Cameroon and to prevent any hint whatsoever,” the source said.

The source told the newspaper that, “detainees are very difficult to interrogate because of the deep indoctrination they have had to suffer from their gurus. The prisoners do not obey any injunction and do not allow themselves to. For instance, they do not speak when they are questioned. In cases where they speak, they only tell you things that have nothing to do with the questions asked them.”

About the place of detention, the informant proved inaccurate. According to him, "these alleged suicide bombers are cautioned to view military security (Semil) or State Secretariat for Defense."

Since the suicide attacks in the city of Fotokol on July 12 and Maroua on July 22 and 25, the security system was strengthened in the city.

The four alleged members of the terrorist group, Boko Haram, had been arrested at Minawao refugee camp in the Far North region as they were about to tie explosives on little girls residing in the camp.
